There are significant differences in how the voice is used between Western popular styles and Western Classical music. Yet, the voice functions anatomically is the same manner regardless of what you’re singing,  In this workshop, we’ll explore what are some of the differences and how you can practice them. This workshop will help you to:

  • Understand how the voice is used for different styles, particularly vowel shapes and diction
  • Practice exercises for “placement” to create different tones
  • Practice using vibrato for style and effect
  • Practice using legato and staccato for style and effect
  • Consider lyrical interpretation for style and effect
