 Tokyo College of Music celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2007. The oldest private music institute in Japan, TCM has been contributing significantly to the development of Western classical music at home. It created the very first symphonic orchestra in Japan which performed on Pacific Ocean steamers from 1912 to 1929. Over the years, Tokyo College of Music has taken great strides in strengthening its faculty and staff as well as expanding the facilities of the school. Now the college boasts a highly qualified and distinguished faculty of more than 440 with the entire student body, under the umbrella of Tokyo College of Music, of over 2000 students. This includes some 1,500 undergraduates, 130 postgraduates, 220 high school students, 80 kindergarteners, and 100 Music Preparatory School students. The College’s facilities include an 806-seat 100th anniversary Hall, B-studio with a baroque style pipe organ, J-studio, Synthesizer Lab, recording studio, Traditional Japanese Music House, Gamelan Performance Studio,labrary and practice rooms.

Cooperating with the entertainment industry, OSM develops students into efficient human resources. At OSM, we want to help to make your dreams come true. Our education system has been built up through the co-operation and the support of the industry to provide you with credible, reliable, and practical education. 
Here at OSM, we have active musicians and producers of five-star levels who teaches in our campus. Examples of our lecturers, we have Tsugutoshi Goto, a renowned composer for major artists, Atsuko Watanabe, a basist of the famous band “Princess Princess”, and Ritsuro Tokuno of “Kome Kome Club” and many others. Our school conducts over 200 auditions per year. We organize auditions both on and off campus. We provide recording companies with sound samples and other promotional activities with the approval and support of the school. We also collaborate with reputable record companies such as Sony Music Entertainment, Avex Group, Victor Entertainment for employment seminar and career development for our students 3 times a year. Presentation and recruitment will be conducted during the event and there were 438 companies participated in 2019. With proactive self-promotion, several of our senior students have managed to secure internships and employment. 
Equipments with professional specifications are provided, same as on the industrial site. We encourage students to always be conscious about the professional site and get accustomed to the practical work scene. The equipments are available for free charge. School venue is open for 24 hours for students to use in a specific periods.

Kunitachi College of Music was founded in 1926 as Tokyo Junior College of Music (Tokyo Music Conservatory), and was established anew in 1950 under the postwar education guidelines. It is now located in Tachikawa City, Tokyo. For more than half a century, we have inspired and delivered generations of fine musicians and dedicated educators to the music scene of Japan. As part of our commitment to excellence in music education, Kunitachi endeavors to expand its activities both within Japan and overseas as the regional music cultural hub in the 21st century.
